F.Eng-KPS Student Teams Grab “the Winner and the First Runners-up Awards” on Thailand Inventors’ Day





An invention by students in Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen (F.Eng-KPS), Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus (KU.KPS) which is an on-wheel robot designed for checking toxic spread in the air and on land and titled “Sky to Land Scanner” won the winner award in Group 1, Engineering Invention in the Young Inventor Contest at the higher education level in the Exhibition of Thailand Invention’ Day held by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangna during 2nd – 6th February, 2016.

In addition, another invention titled “A Long-Range & Low-Momentum Pesticide- Spraying System using Vortex Ring Shooter with Mobile Robot” also won the First Runners-up award in Group 3, Agricultural Invention in the Young Inventor Contest at the higher education level.

Both awards were honouredly bestowed by His Excellency, Air Chief Marshal Prachin Chantong, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transportation.

On this same occasion of Thailand Invention’ Day, apart from taking part in the Contest, F.Eng-KPS also organized the "Robot Camp" providing interested student participants from a variety of universities with the know-how on robot making by Ajahn Worapot Satadaechakul, an expert of the robot and his students from Innovative Robotica Club or InRoC, Innovative Mechatronics Engineering Research Station (IMERS).
